The Asclepieion of Athens was an ancient Greek healing sanctuary in Athens, built in 420/419 BC in honor of the gods Asclepius and Hygieia, located on the southern slope of the Acropolis. Patients sought divine cures through sacred sleep, dreams, purification rituals, and offerings. Featuring a temple, sacred spring, and incubation halls, the sanctuary reflects the close relationship between religion and medicine in ancient Greece. Its remains offer a fascinating glimpse into the origins of healthcare.

The Museo di Storia della Medicina at Rome University, founded in 1938 by Adalberto Pazzini, is located in the Institute of the Medical History and showcases the evolution of medical science across three floors.
