Collin & Cie, Paris

The French company Maison Collin was organized as a successor of the famous Maison Charrière, founded by Joseph-Frédéric-Benoît Charrière in the early 19th century. Anatole Pierre Urbain Louis Colline (1831-1923) and Louis-Apollinaire Robert bought the Charrière firm on May 19, 1866. Robert left the company at 1876 and Collin ran the company after. His grandson, Pierre Collin, succeeded him upon his death in 1923. The company worked under the name Maison Collin till 1957 when it was taken over by Maison Gentile

 

Anatole Pierre Urbain Louis Collin

Anatole Pierre Urbain Louis Collin, born on May 4, 1831, in Fresnay-sur-Sarthe, was the son of Pierre Louis Henri Collin and Urbaine Euphrasie Elisabeth Leroy. In 1864, he was recorded as a manufacturer of surgical instruments, residing at 22 rue Racine in Paris. His mother was a grocer in Fresnay, and his father had died. He married Marie Aimée Bathilde Gourjon on December 17, 1864, in Paris (6th arrondissement). Anatoine Pierre Urbain Louis Collin, manufacturer of surgical instruments, Commander of the Legion of Honor, husband of Marie Aimée Bathilde Gourjon, died on December 9, 1923, at his home at 6 rue de l'Ecole de Médecine in Paris (6th arrondissement). 1867. All three known catalogues by Robert et Collin are dated the year 1867.

1871. The Collin family took over the management of the company, the new name: Maison Collin. Instruments are marked as COLLIN & Cie (Collin and Company)

19 century – 60 rue Mazarine, Paris.

1900s. Address: 19 rue Matignon, Paris (in Catalogue dated ca. 1914)

1957. The company Collin was taken over by Maison Gentile
